Portable Basic
The Portable Basic compiler offers a full compliment of features and high performance in an affordable package. It is compatible with Microsoft GW-Basic, allowing applications developed on personal computers to run on faster, more versatile workstations.

Color graphics capabilities are provided to draw points, lines, rectangles, circles, arcs, and ellipses. Text can be drawn on the screen in your choice of fonts. Sequential and indexed file access is included. Program size is virtually unlimited and Portable Basic supports long program lines, large arrays and long variable names.

Text processing is simplified because maximum string lengths do not need to be declared. Instead space is dynamically allocated for string text as needed. High performance is achieved for string operations using optimization techniques that minimize memory references and generate common string operations in-line.
